Session 1, Thursday morning
Basketball: a social phenomenon
Basketball is a sport, but what does this mean? How important is it? The relevance of certain games, such as basketball, transcends the passion of those who play or watch them: to a certain point, cities such as Vitoria-Gasteiz, or territories such as Álava, culturally recognize themselves in them.
Basketball is an institution because institutions have welcomed it into their midst. Let us, therefore, give the word to the governmental, provincial and local institutions to explore this dimension of our sport that is as diffuse as it is essential.

Session 2, Thusrday afternoon
Basketball: an educational treasure
As we know, basketball was born as a didactic resource for the educational needs of a nineteenth-century American teacher: how much of all that remains today? Games and sports are part of school programs because they have an intrinsic educational value: really?
Many school and social agents believe that the practice of basketball increases the opportunities for individual progress and social development. As utopian as it may seem, it is worth enjoying this treasure by sharing proposals, experiences, and utopias for a world always in need of illusions.

Session 3, Friday morning
Basketball: an enigma
Statistics and probabilities are our daily bread. Also in basketball, and even more so in the times of big data and sports scientists that we are living through. However, basketball is a game that does not allow itself to be subdued by the coldness of arithmetic, no matter how sophisticated it may be, does it?
Basketball is an enigma whose keys are sought with dedication, intelligence and technology. The modeling of game action and competition will be the axes of this session in which workshops will be proposed based on advanced but accessible examples.

Session 4, Friday afternoon
Basketball: the game we love
Basketball is a time limited, symmetric collective duel, whose space is subdivided into more or less favorable zones, and with a high energy demand. Its internal logic privileges the relationship of two teams in opposition, and the core of the associated competence is semiotic: a collective intelligence based on circulating signs and interpretations is put into play on the ground. Wonderful!
Basketball imposes itself on us as a reality that we can only know if we try to answer this simple question: what is basketball like? We will dedicate this session to this effort.

Session 5, Saturday morning
Basketball: passion for coaching
Basketball is played on the court… and on the sideline. The decisions of those who coach and train have a direct impact on the development of the games and the result of the competition. Regardless of the specific field of intervention (school based, recreational, practice or performance), coaching is also a mode of action for which it is necessary to prepare.
